Comprehensive guides to Argyll Centre's programs and services are included in the Elementary, Junior High, and High School Programs listing, or in the downloadable High School Program Guide The following frequently asked questions (FAQ) represent some of the most common inquiries we receive. If you have questions that are not answered on the website, please contact us via e-mail or phone. How much is a reasonable amount of time for a student to work on his/her school work when he/she is at home?
Sitting at a computer for long hours is not good for anyone's health. Parents and students need to have a plan in place where they can designate computer and non-computer time and still get the work done.
What if my child needs help from a teacher?
Students need to take initiative to contact their teacher when the student needs assistance. Teachers are prepared to work with individuals or groups of students. Students can come to the Argyll Centre and work with their teacher using the student's computer account; this also allows students to work with others collaboratively.
My child wants to be in an online program, but thinks that they will miss their friends too much. What do you suggest that we do?
Socialization is very important to children and most do not want to be isolated from their friends. Parents need to be very careful to ensure that their children are involved in positive social and recreational activities outside of the home. Students in the Edmonton regions are encouraged to attend school sponsored activities.
What are the computer requrements for an online program?
