Argyll Centre makes extensive use of technology to support student learning. The following software products are used:
Lotus Notes
Argyll Centre uses a Lotus Notes locally developed program as the means of delivering online instruction as well as managing the learning process. For families in remote areas, using the Lotus Notes client on their home machines allows them to work without being connected to the Internet. Twice a day they connect to the Internet and exchange all data with the school. Students with high speed connections are also able to access the materials directly through a standard web browser.
Argyll Social Networking
Argyll Social Networking (ASN) allows students and teachers to interact in a secure environment. Students and teachers can create their own blog, form groups, share pictures, and chat live with each other. Unlike public social networking sites like FaceBook©, ASN is open only to students and staff at Argyll. Teachers use ASN to communicate with the students in their class. Students can collaborate on class projects with other students and form social connections.
Elluminate Live!
| Elluminate Live! is a web conferencing application. Teachers can schedule online classes through eLive and students and teachers can share information and interact with each other. eLive sessions can also be recorded so teachers can create lessons that students can go back to watch later. |

| Argyll Centre was awarded the 2008 Elluminate Center of Excellence Award. Click here for more information. |
My Locker
My Locker is a secure web site with resources for all Argyll families. Through the Locker, families have access to school news, email, school work, and links to a variety of educational resources.
QuickPlace
QuickPlace is a collaboration tool that allows students to work together on projects. A group of students for instance could collaboratively create a report on Canada, with each student working on a different part of the report.
