Correspondence & Summer Learning

Correspondence

Our Correspondence Learning Program provides students with an opportunity to complete a full range of courses implementing a pen and paper approach using a distance learning model.

Students receive complete courses organized in coil bound modules. Assignment packages accompany each module, and are submitted for assessment to certified teachers for evaluation. Final examinations make up the final phase of the correspondence learning process.

Progress is monitored with ongoing communication between students and the Argyll Centre. Students have access to academic advice and assistance on site as well as through email and over the telephone. Other services include; counselling, programming advice and assistance, as well as access to diploma preparation sessions and resources.

Students in High School (Grades 10-12) can access some core courses along with courses in areas of personal development, and CTS (Career and Technology Studies) courses. Students may choose to register for complete programming for the school year, or they may elect to register for selected courses.

Correspondence courses are delivered according to the Alberta Program of Studies.

As a Correspondence student you can earn an Alberta High School Diploma that is recognized at post-secondary institutions throughout the world. Students in High School Correspondence Learning are eligible for academic scholarships such as the Rutherford Scholarship.
